A former gas station was acting as the source of a complex petroleum plume, which had migrating off-site. Whereas 70 soil borings could not delineate the migration pathways off-site, an EM 31 terrain conductivity survey was able to detect the presence of old field drainage tiles, which were actively transporting the petroleum across and off of the site……Read More »

Drain Mapping At An Active Industrial Facility
Mundell was contacted to map out a drain system at a local industrial facility, which was believed to be acting as a conduit for perchloroethylene (PCE) releases. Mundell used electromagnetic line tracing in conjunction with ground penetrating radar (GPR) profiling to accurately map the drains, allowing for the acute placement of investigative soil borings……Read More »
IDEM Wellhead Protection Planning Reviews
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) contracted Mundell to provide detailed reviews of 80 wellhead protection plans for wellhead areas throughout the state of Indiana……Read More »
Wellhead Protection Plan Revisions
Fanning Howey contracted Mundell to provide detailed consistent revisions for 11 of its wellhead management plans for wellhead areas throughout the state of Indiana. The revisions were performed to assure compliance with the Indiana Wellhead Protection Rule (327 IAC 8-4.1)……Read More »
Statewide Aquifer Vulnerability Analysis – Wellhead Areas
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) contracted Mundell to develop and design an aquifer vulnerability analysis protocol in order to assess the vulnerability of pollutants within wellhead areas throughout the state. Mundell developed a protocol based on information already contained in each drinking water supply’s Wellhead protection Plans (WHPs) considering a detailed geologic and hydro geologic evaluation and the potential sources on contamination in order to calculate an Aquifer Vulnerability Index (AVI) for each of the wellhead areas……Read More »
