Statewide Aquifer Vulnerability Analysis – Wellhead Areas
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) contracted Mundell to develop and design an aquifer vulnerability analysis protocol in order to assess the vulnerability of pollutants within wellhead areas throughout the state. Mundell developed a protocol based on information already contained in each drinking water supply’s Wellhead protection Plans (WHPs) considering a detailed geologic and hydro geologic evaluation and the potential sources on contamination in order to calculate an Aquifer Vulnerability Index (AVI) for each of the wellhead areas……Read More »
Hydrogeologic Analysis – Potential Impacts to Town’s Residential Wells
Mundell performed an evaluation of the geologic setting of the town of Greens Fork, IN to provide a preliminary estimate of the potential contaminant release trajectories from two facilities of interest: a landfill and a veal processing plant. Mundell then constructed an estimated groundwater surface (potentiometric) map within the upper aquifer system of Greens Fork……Read More »
Groundwater Hydrology Assessment for Proposed Pool Changes Along the White River (1996)
New information along with historical area pumping rates and flooding conditions was used to construct and calibrate a regional groundwater flow model of the entire surface water/groundwater system of White River State Park……Read More »
Aquifer Assessment and Re-Evaluation of a Wellhead Protection Area
The Town of Linden constructed three production wells to supply a new ethanol plant with water. Consequently, MUNDELL was retained to perform an aquifer assessment, re-evaluate the Wellhead Protection Area (WHPA) and complete a Phase II Wellhead Protection Plan (WHPP) for the Town of Linden, Indiana due to a significant change in the Town’s aquifer usage. …..Read More »
