John Mundell Speaks at Renewable Energy Day at the Indiana Statehouse

March 8, 2019 Topic: Company News

John Mundell joined advocates for the first ever “Renewable Energy Day” at the Indiana Statehouse on Wednesday March 7, 2019.

The focus of the day was to rally and meet with lawmakers for renewable energy policies that will create good-paying jobs, improve air and water quality, and lower electric bills for all Hoosiers.

John spoke from a scientific and faith perspective detailing the positive environmental and economic impacts past environmental laws have had on cleaning up our city, and the choices we now have to create laws that encourage the use of renewable energy and move away from fossil fuels.

John also presented Jesse Kharbanda, Executive Director of the Hoosier Environmental Council, with one of the first copies of “Climate Generation: Awakening to Our Children’s Future” by Lorna Gold, published by New City Press in North America.

The day was co-hosted by Solar United Neighbors of Indiana, Indiana Distributed Energy Alliance, Hoosier Interfaith Power & Light, Citizens Action Coalition, Hoosier Environmental Council, Solarize Indiana, Sierra Club, and Earth Charter Indiana.

For media coverage of Renewable Energy day see articles from WFYI or NUVO.

Celebrate Biodiversity

Approximately 33% of the food consumed by humans is dependent, either directly or indirectly, on honey bee pollination. Here are a few steps you can take to help these important pollinators!

  • Keep beekeeping in your area viable by buying local honey.
  • Grow a variety of flowering plants in your garden and avoid using pesticides.
  • Learn the difference between honeybees and other flying insects such as wasps/yellow jackets to prevent the inadvertent use of deadly sprays.
