From September 12 – September 14 leaders and people from around the world will come together in San Francisco to “Take Ambition to the Next Level” at the Global Climate Action Summit. This is an exciting event, where non-state actors will be making their own commitments to reduce emissions and address climate change, including local governments, the faith community, businesses and NGOs.
It will also be a launchpad for deeper worldwide commitments and accelerated action from countries—supported by all sectors of society—that can put the globe on track to prevent dangerous climate change and realize the historic Paris Agreement.
In addition to the main program, there are hundreds of affliate events taking place in the area, many open to the public. Virtually all of the event will be streamed live as well.
Some of the events we are interested in include “Living Laudato S’ through Climate Action” and others supported by the Global Catholic Climate Movement.
